Default This article should read: "Putin's Iron grip prevents opponents destroying Russia"

As usual, when it comes to Russia NY Times gets it dead wrong. The West poured money into opposition groups in Russia like it does elsewhere to divide Russia and then expoilt the moment to take over Russia's resources and people. Putin changed the rules and prevented all this.

Russia is so rich in resources and other factors that it simply can't have a Democracy as long as the West cares to sponsor the candidates.

Russia will never serve the West. Go Putin!

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Russia — Shortly before parliamentary elections in December, foremen fanned out across the sprawling GAZ vehicle factory here, pulling aside assembly-line workers and giving them an order: vote for President Vladimir V. Putin’s party or else. They were instructed to phone in after they left their polling places. Names would be tallied, defiance punished.

The west often do under hand tactics like this to divide a nation and make it weaker.

In england many people dislike the EU and think we should move away from Europe and closer to America, where do they get these opinion's? you guessed it, the American owned tabloids.

Here they wanted to stop the production of the Euro fighter to buy worse plane's from America and destroy British jobs. Why? American influence, money and media.

Putin has made Russia much stronger and amny nations in the west hate that.

Nobody hates that Russia is stronger. We hate the way in which it got stronger under essentialy a dictator that will bring the country down again in the end.

Ugly the irony is it looks like your own 'dictator' is taking your country down.

Exactly! You would like a scenario like in Japan or Hong Kong where the countries might be strong but their strength depends on the West.

It is interesting how Russian economy develops regardless of stock market whereas many other countries do worse if America does worse. I wonder why that is?

The Russian economy developed because of their newly available natural gas and oil resources. It isn't because of any economic policy Putin has made. Well maybe partnering with China helped but that cant last.

Caspian we don't have a dictator just a terrible president who was elected in a fair election and the next President will be elected in a fair way as well. We don't have fake elections where the opposition and its supporters are arrested or killed for simply running against the current leader.

That is all irrelevant though. America has the most money out of all the countries. That is why no other country can influence the candidates with more money than America's own donors. If Iran had 10 times more money than America it would give some to the President to make friends with Iran.

That is why America's case cannot apply anywhere else. I tell you what, it was really a choice between forcing people to vote for Kremlin or for the White House. Putin decided it should be for Kremlin. I think he is right.

You are saying Russia's economy is based on oil and gas. Yes. So what? Saudi Arabia does the same thing.

America plans to get Iraq's economy going with oil. If you have it why not use it right?

I am sorry UGLY but America's democracy is not all that democratic.

Just because it sais democracy on the tin does not mean its 100% democratic.

France is a lot more democratic than America.
