What if it is the immutable word of God, but God doesn't mean for all of it to be taken literally but instead taken as a guide to a moral life?

If I remember correctly that is one of the main 3 ways to interpret the Bible.

I believe the 3 ways biblical scholars look at the bible are:
    1. Literal
    2. Guide - like you suggested
    3. Man I can't remember the last one I think it was something with being prophetic.

It's probably splitting hairs, but I suggested that the bible could be interpretted as literal AND as a guide.

I can judge Obama by his doctrine, by his actions, and by the company he keeps.
    Very clever.

I am not qualified to argue scripture, however, I think you are being selective on the Bible verses you select.
    Looking earlier in Matthew 7:

1 ?Do not judge so that you will not be judged.
2 ?For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.
3 ?Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother?s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
4 ?Or how can you say to your brother, ?Let me take the speck out of your eye,? and behold, the log is in your own eye?
5 ?You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother?s eye.

You still have not given any specifics about what Obama's has done or believes in that would cause you to feel that he is anti-Christain.
On a personal level he appears to be a decent, caring, family-man who has acheived much through talent, hard work and ambition.

Sure, there are as many ways to interpret the Bible as there are divisions of Christianity. I didn't try to list all of the shades of gray in my post.

This reminds me there are also many ways to to interpret the Constitution. Beware of the person who claims to hold "the" truth.

I'm still waiting for ctc to pony up some non-Christian attributes since Obama is only Psuedo.
