That's basically the story of the story.
That's basically the story of the story.
The Swift Boaters for Bush had nothing except a desire to have their candidate elected. What they also had were people like Flop who would believe anything out there as long as it furthered their candidate for president.
Yeah bro, I believe everything any Republican says. Welcome to the boards dude, your hands-over-your-ears approach to things will fit right in here.
The Swift-boaters were eye-witnesses. The NY Times has absolutely nothing. What a bozo outfit.
"The NY Times has absolutely nothing. What a bozo outfit"
-What exactly has the NYT claimed that wasn't true? Did they ever say he had an affair or that some of his staffers were worried about him having an affair?
There's no such thing as a pretty good aligator wrestler.
In matclone's own words - (not that he's accused of actually doing anything unethical, but it's the suggestion of wrongdoing that matters).
I'll be blunt. Swift Boat is a litmus test for me. Anyone who claims they are telling the truth (especially when reluctant to specify what that is) and also who doesn't recognize it first and last as a smear campaign, isn't very discriminating when it comes to evidence, and is easily persuaded by the angry white man in the suit.

You seem to believe everything the SB dudes said? No? If you want to assume that I assume that you assume an assumption that I assume you voted for Bush both times, then that is an educated assumption on my part.
Now sell me a bridge in Brooklyn and tell me you didn't vote for him twice.![]()
The moral to this whole story has nothing to do with any other politician or any other situation really. This is what it boils down to; if McCain is going to campaign on being honest and ethical at all times throughout his decades long career inside the beltway, he had better be able to back that up. He is the one that set the bar so high. As I said, I could care less about the article or what he may have done or not done. I don't want a beltway career insider to be the next president. I don't think the majority of Americans want that either.
This is why Obama is so interesting to so many people.
As to this helping McCain with the base, did any of you really think that when it comes down to it that the diehards would NOT get out and vote for him? That's a given, no matter how much whining the righty talkies have been doing. Unfortunately for them, they have lost so many republicans to the other side that it really won't make much of a difference. Thank George Bush for that.
