Thread: I thought the surge worked?

Default I thought the surge worked?

McCain and the rest of the Bush supporters have been telling me for months that Patraeus and the rest have won this thing? Is it possible that they have been misleading me? I thought that once your team wins, the game is over and you prepare for the next game. Since peace has broken out, shouldn't we draw down our team and let peace have a chance? Must we always hold the other teams hands and spot them a couple of touchdowns? How come American and Iraqi deaths are climbing steadily again?

Gates: Pause in troop cuts makes sense

By ROBERT BURNS, AP Military Writer

FORWARD OPERATING BASE FALCON, Iraq - In a clear sign the drawdown of U.S. forces from Iraq will be suspended, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Monday he favors taking time this summer to assess security gains before more troops leave the country, an idea President Bush is expected to support.

I haven't heard Bush say that we have won.

I think he's being a little more cautious since the "mission acciomplished"
    fiasco.

I didn't say Bush. I said McCain and Bush supporters.

Bush doesn't give a shit. He's done. He's leaving this mess for someone else. His legacy is already written in the blood of thousands of dead Americans and perhaps a million or so Iraqi's.

McCain is the one running around calling Dems quitters and bragging about how we essentially won based on the surge he supported. It's the number one talking point on his campaign trail.

    Pay attention.
