Good one, Big. Yes, there will always be a future in the military to help stomp out global terrorism and make the world safe for propertied interests.
matclone it was America that prescribes globalisation to the world so America could take advantage of every poor developing nation and even some powerful nations, its funny how globalisation has turned full circle and is fucking America up.
Tiger, don't kid yourself, globalisation is...global. The powers that promote globalisation (big capitalists) may have originally come mostly from the U.S. (in support of U.S. corporations) but they also come now from many other places all over the world--ever seeking the lowest cost labor and the fewest regulations. Actually, it's really nothing new: the Spanish conquest of America in the 15th to 17th centuries--the Dutch Royal India Company (perhaps the first large corporation) in the 19th century. There's a great segment in the movie Gandhi which shows globalisation at work where the British attempt to control and profit from the salt in India and beat the people who would claim it as their own. I cannot think of a better illustration of how capitalism works in the real world.
I am not kidding myself. By the way that should have been prescribed not prescribe. These days Americans are all about localisation. I personally prefer localisation.
There is a beautiful irony in America getting screwed by globalisation, after they screwed so many.
That's a pretty simple way of looking at it: America is the bad guy, and America justly suffers. Here in America, I often hear that Mexico is the bad guy, or Iran is the bad guy, and they all should suffer. Again, a pretty simple way of looking at things.
