I'll have to go over to Obama's church's website to see if these types of statements are true or not. If true, then then are high level racists.

While the Black Value System includes such items as commitment to God, education, and self-discipline, it refers to “our racist competitive society” and includes the disavowal of the pursuit of “middle-classness” and a pledge of allegiance to “all black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System.” It defines “middle-classness” as a way for American society to “snare” blacks rather than “killing them off directly” or “placing them in concentration camps,” just as the country structures “an economic environment that induces captive youth to fill the jails and prisons.”

"The Bush Administration is a great example. All the time he's talked about faith, he's actually been faithfully following the economic conservative agenda at every turn."

Bush is hardly an economic conservative. Other than cutting taxes, what has he done economically that's been so conservative?

My term was probably confusing. I was referring to the sort of conservatism that supports business at every turn--not fiscal conservatism. I suppose neo-conservatism would have been a better choice.

Oh, OK. I can't disagree with that assessment.

Holy Mackeral! I buzz on in here from the other forum and lo and behold, CTC flames away in here also. He is a piece of work!

As for commuting the sentences, are you intimately familiar with the cases, or are you just using rhetoric?

He (ctc) reminds of a kid, oh, of about 14 years of age, who goes around trying to pick fights with other kids over nothing. His perspective and knowledge of American history (in particular his usual ignorant comments about racism) is also not too far removed from that of a typical teenager.

As for Huckabee's commutations, some of my friends on the left today were ranting about this (he evidently let a rapist go), and, as evidenced by leglace's comment, it seems he is also under attack from the right for something similar. I'd say this attack is clearly rhetorical in nature rather than from knowledge of specific situations. I'd guess issues of commutation are usually quite complicated. But we know rhetorical bashing doesn't like any sort of complication. Imagine choosing a President based on whether or not he commuted a sentence. Gosh, and all this time I thought other things were important.

You made my day. (I couldn't help but notice that you would not answer the question about whether I am a racist or not). You're beautiful, man.

While I am all for fiscal conservatism, is supporting business really a bad thing? Don't most of usin this country work for or in some kind of business? If conditions are good for our employers, they will be good for us. One thing is for sure -- if times are hard for our employers, they will be even harder for us.
