A big part of why you folks can work overtime and such and pay mortgage and get old proudly is because you feel you will get an eternal body and life in paradise after death? Like you would not really feel yourself without such assurance?

I see it as the oposite. You could get through the struggle because of religion. The purpose of religion has much less to do with financial prosperity as it does emotionally.
Yes they do because people would not easily spend all this time working and paying the bills if they did not think life on Earth is just the beginning of the journey so to speak while the best part comes in heaven IF YOU DO THE RIGHT THING.
How can you know the reasons certain people work hard? Do your co-workers say, "Good thing I just paid the electricity bill, I don't want to go to hell"
