Nah, I basically offered to pay for a good meal, movie out or something like that, sorry he thinks it is silly. No strings attached or anything like that. In fact, nothing about Jesus, religion or the likes was mentioned. Tell you what Big, just pm me here and tell me of someone or some agency that does good work, and I will send the gift in honor of you. That way, it is as if you are helping someone or some group, would be glad to do it.

Big it is just my nature to want to give at Christmas. I have been married for 28 years and for 26 of those 28 years I have had people with me, this year is no exception. A former gang banger, who is living a tough life, trying to get straigtened out with several gunshot wounds will be spending Christmas with us. I actually pick him up today, and will stay with us until at least Christmas evening, maybe longer. We have started to get to know each other when we were in a play together last week and he played the part of the gangster. The relationship and friendship won't just be a Christmas thing but ongoing and this is just a way to keep him from being alone during the holidays.

I challenge, that it is in the giving that most people will find joy at Christmas, obviously with it CHRISTmas, people will talk about Jesus, but hey, I don't care, why you help others, just help others. Now if there is another Russian day or something like that which Big wants to inform us about all of the joy and good will stuff, tell us, heck, some of us may not be such fuddy duddys and try to learn about that day, and do something there as well.

Some of us "Jesus Freaks" believes like a line in one of the songs my wife sings this time of year, "It's not the things you do at Christmas time, it's the Christmas things you do all year through." In other words, giving, caring, helping, the homeless, abused, and so forth.

By the way Big, have you seen that movie yet? If not a shame since William Wilberforce is credited with doing as much, if not more than any person in history to abolish slavery. Here is the wiki page for you to at least get a start: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Wilberforce

Sorry but I don't find much value in helping the poor, abused, or homeless on this day you call Christmas. I would like to look at the roots of a society as to why these people have it so rough to begin with. They exist just so you can have your Godly job. That's bull! Look at the communities where they gorw up and you will find a problem.

As long as some people get to go to private schools while others grow up in neighborhoods with gangs these people will exist, and of course you will have your job.

Yes I believe in taking away from the excesses to provide opportunities to everyone EVEN AT THE DETRIMENT OF THE ECONOMY OR WHATEVER. EITHER MOST PEOPLE HAVE OPPORTUNITIES OR NOBODY DOES!

If some people choose not to use those opportunities then let them be in their miserable state. Charity work only makes things worse for these specific people that fail to take advantage of things.

Are you sure you like communism?

I sure do like communism. Even the most worseless Soviet citizen in Leningrad had an opportunity to go to a good school and got assistance from the government for an apartment, medical care, food and clothes while growing up.

In Russia the low lifes that drank and did drugs were thrown into prison and driven to Siberia or if they were 18 they were sent into military to build roads and showel snow.

Big you forget, or maybe never knew, I came from such a neighborhood, such roots, the problem or solution as you present is very selfish and very self conceeding. What is really sad is your message and your answers ring with a measure of hatred towards anyone who would do good, or anyone who has fallen on tough times. I just find your answer ironic, you talk about the evils of the system, yet you throw the blame on individuals who may have been hurt by the system. One of my areas of study is logic, and frankly I find little of that in your replies here. Oh well, have a great week, no matter what you believe, or don't believe. Also, please don't make assumptions about why anyone does anything. It really isn't appreciated by many, and only isolates you to the point where even fewer people have any respect for you.

I distinguish between people that are born into misery and those that choose misery by nature. My brother had all the opportunities that I had. He dropped out of school and never wanted to study or do anything. He constantly asked my parents for money and hung with the wrong crowd. I don't see any need to help people like that. You God people thrive on claiming these people need help. They don't They chose this life and state of well being by nature.

Then, you suck up to the rich folks for donations to help the people that were born into misery, providing them with inferior education and everything else. Only sound government programs can change unjust society where rich smile at the misery of the poor. You God people can never do enough but you like it like that. It keeps you in business.

So you only support Communist governments you dont accept what could be considered pure communism when people in society attempt to lift people up and create equality. I say that a government cannot create or give equality if the individuals of that society dont want it.

Did you know that Jesus was essentialy a communist (in the best use of the term)
