Federal law prohibited Cho to buy a gun
WASHINGTON, April 20 ? Under federal law, the Virginia Tech gunman Seung-Hui Cho should have been prohibited from buying a gun after a Virginia court declared him to be a danger to himself in late 2005 and sent him for psychiatric treatment, a state official and several legal experts said Friday.
Unfortuantely, the court never found him to be a mental defective. The court found to sufficient evidfence to require him to particpate in a psychiatric evaluation. The doc let him go. If the doc had found him to be his true self, then he would have likely been committed for further evaluation and not released to return to V Tech. Unfortunately, the doc was dealing a very smart schitzo that altered his personality for the psycho review and hid his true self from the doc. Cho was not insane.
Some "normal" people have personalities that don't go well with owning guns.
I know some people that can kill someone when they are really mad but other than that they are pretty normal people.
That's a pretty big qualifier you're using there - "But other than that"
