An administration that had cited Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons as the rationale for an aggressive foreign policy — as an attempt to head off World War III, as President Bush himself put it only weeks ago — now has in its hands a classified document that undercuts much of the foundation for that approach.

Big, there is a difference between being wrong and lying.

Have someone stuff your stocking with "Legacy Of Ashes", by Tim Weiner if you want to read a history of the CIA's success (or failure) in predicting events in foreign countries.

You can't believe how often our spooks have said "No way there will be an uprising" in the morning, only to have an uprising occur in the afternoon. Same thing with their appraisals of nuclear weapons, etc... It's hard to believe how inaccurate our information is at any one time, and the President and his cabinet have to sort through massive amounts of white noise.

Wait, I thought you were anti-globalization? Why would you want the US to have any sort of trade agreements w/Iran? Don't you want each country to produce and distribute only within its own borders?

Don't put to much credence in the recent NIE report...All you need to do is examine what the NIE experts put together just FIVE months before the Iraq attack. http://www.fas.org/irp/cia/product/iraq-wmd.html Key judgments from October 2002. Why would you believe this latest "NIE" report is accurate after checking this out. KEEP the pressure on IRAN!
