Secular progressives realize that America as it is now will never approve of gay marriage, partial birth abortion, euthanasia, legalized drugs, income redistribution through taxation, and many other progressive visions because of religious opposition.

But if the secularists can destroy religion in the public arena, the brave new progressive world is a possibility. That's what happened in Canada.

The typical us v. them bullshit we've come to expect from OReilly. Note how he conflates secular and progressive. One can be secular and hold to right-wing politics. Conversely, one can be religious and hold left-wing politics. But none of that is a reality on TV. To OReilly's faithful, the world is just out to get them.

If the soldiers and troopers are buried in the government sponsored cemetery, they should not have the crosses. Religion has nothing to do with one's grave in a government cemetery. There everyone is either a fallen trooper or a soldier period.

A soldier who qualifies for a military burial can have any religious symbol placed on his tombstone, including Muslim, Wiccan, or Atheist.

It's not your grave. You can dig your own grave, and erect your own monument.

Also, govt maintenance of a cemetary does not establish a religion. If the cemetary insisted you be a Christian to be buried there then you might have an argument. But they don't.

Government Headstone/Niche Cover — The government will provide at no cost to the estate of the deceased an upright, white marble headstone or white niche cover. The cemetery staff at Arlington will place the order, which goes to the National Cemetery Administration, part of the Department of Veterans Affairs. The order for the headstone or niche cover will include the appropriate inscription and choice of faith emblems.

Why should my taxes pay for these faith emblems?
