Default President Obama 66% approval rating!

In his final months in office G.W. Bush had job approval ratings that hovered in the high 20's and low 30's percentage rate. Obama's job approval rate currently is 66%.

60% of Americans approve of Obama's handling of the economy.

52% approve of Obama's handling of the federal budget deficit.

In the final months of the Bush administration only 15% of people generally thought the country was going in the right direction. That number has since risen to 42%.

Those numbers are pretty dang large swings in both confidence in the leadership of the nation and in how the nation as a whole is doing.

Give it time. Let his policies actually take affect and start to work or fail. 60 days is not long enough to judge what has happened so far. I will say home prices have fallen in the last month and we had a small rebound in the economy that was quickly dashed.

And the alternate Republican plan is what?

    That's right they don't have a plan.

The Republicans are currently sorely lacking any leadership or direction.

The only plan Republicans have is to obstruct any plans put forth by Democrats and to rehash old economic plans that failed the nation horribly.

Deregulation of stock and financial market regulations and energy market regulation in particular were all miserable failures as economic policy.

Face it deregulation was a miserable failure as a economic policy.

Greed overcame economic sense and long term economic market health in favor of short term profits.

Bush's approval ratings were in the 60's as well after two months in office. Your point is weak. What Ugly is telling you, is that Obama is the "anti-Bush" and the approval ratings reflect that. Once his policies and big spending, not to mention the horrid inflation that is looming, takes affect, You'll start to see those numbers crash.

Bush made many mistakes, but this situation that we're in started under a Republican Congress and allowed to happen by Clinton. Bush/Greenspan created the housing bubble to prop up the bursting of the tech bubble and here we are....dealing with a cluster of a mess. Obama may have inherited the mess...but his policies in dealing with it have been slow and wrong. Bush spent WAY too much Money, and Obama's budget is worse that Bush's 8 years in office.

This is going to get even uglier, and it will be Obama's mistake for spending money we don't have and pushing his socialist agendas on the American public based on fear, gloom and doom, rather than resolving issues and reigning in spending.

Actually they do have a plan. But they are being dismissed now with the lack of balance of power. So I wonder why they even bothered. This plan was actually fiscally conservative as well, for once.

The GOP has no say. You call them crybabies, I call them outcasted. They have reason to be loud.

This last part was especially laughable.

I wonder which party... (okay - it is the Republicans) have based their entire platform on in the past decade on FEAR, GLOOM & DOOM rather then resolving issues and reigning in spending?

This statement by Badcat and others is one of the biggest hypocritical statements of all time to come from the so called fiscal conservatives IMO.

What is hypocritical about stating that Bush spent WAY too much money? I also said that Bush made many mistakes. It's all truth. See, I think you have me labled as one of those Kool-Aide drinking fools who can't seem to find truth through the bias. I'm an independant who hates all politicians equally. I'm a true Conservative but never a Republican.

You on the other hand, have a very large blue Kool-aide mustache. You're bias makes you a jackass <--symbolically speaking

The poll shows for the most part, whether or not people approve of his policies, they approve of how he is doing in his job.
He is showing leadershpip, has made real attempts at bipartianship and has reacted to the economic crises clamly and decisively.

On many issues I am very liberal: Such as helping those who cannot help themselves.

Others issues I have libertarian views: I am against laws on prostitution, drugs etc.

There are also some political ideas I agree very strongly with conservatives about: I am against most new gun laws as an example. But I also think that there needs to be much longer punishments for violent criminals especially those who commit crimes with a weapon.

On the blanket statement you made about socialism and fear mongering you expressed a extremist conservative bend regarding President Obama.

Odd that you would use kool-aid drinking... as a metaphor. That of course would refer to Jim Jones and the massacre of his religious followers. By far most religious zealots are conservative in nature. That may lead some to think you might be a religious nut job. (Symbolically speaking of course.)

You claim to be a independent but so far I have only seen you express conservative viewpoints. Care to enlighten me on what views on what issues would place you as a independent?
