I used to live in San Diego County. Don't remember any huge fires back when.
I work woth a guy who was a marine in San Diego and he believes a lot of this could have been avoided if the enviromental nut jobs would have allowed thinning and controled burns in the area. Instead of going to the 9th circus courts in san fran and getting court orders to hault such activity.

If they were ecological nut jobs and not environmental nut jobs, they would have realized that fire plays a natural role in that particular ecosystem.
Russian TV said the fire started because electric cable burst into flames. Not really a natural disaster.
Maybe Al Qaeda took a page form the WWII era Japanese playbook and began launching balloon bombs.

On CNN last night they were doing an interview with the lead smoke jumper on the fires and without prompting he added that the Forest Service shares a large part of the blame for the past couple of seasons of mega-fires. Funny, I heard Michael Savage yesterday saying the exact same thing. The fires were caused by the environmentalists, oh, and illegal immigrants (I'm not joking).
That is an outrageous comment about illegals. But I do think they could be put to work helping fight the fires.Quote:
