I really didn't want to bet you, but I will if I get clarification on what exactly the bet on unemployment is. If it is that it has been dropping since January of 2009, then that must mean that it is lower today than it was then and hasn't risen and fell, correct? You said it has been dropping, so I assume that means it's lower now and never went up since then. If that is the bet, then you are on.

Oh, and I will be using the data on the government's own website. I assume you trust that. Or will you weasel out of it as I predicted?

Don't worry about me weaseling out of a bet. As I said, my Dad taught me one thing and one thing only: never make a bet that you won't win. I took that advice seriously, and have never lost a money bet in my life.

My bet simply said that the unemployment rate today is lower than it was in January of 2009, which is all that I've ever said. Does it go up and down? Of course; I would HOPE that it does! I am simply saying, longitudinally, the unemployment rate has been dropping on the whole.

So, and as has been the case since I iniitially offered the bet: the unemployment rate today is lower than it was when Obama took office in January of 2009. You in for that bet to say that it is higher today than it was in January of 2009?

Actually, I should have been a bit wiser in my offer, as Obama really didn't do much to change things until February. Based on this data, Bureau of Labor Statistics Data and the conditions that I set forth in the bet, you would technically win the bet. However, since February of 2009, the unemployment rate has dropped almost every month, right up until this day.

So, based on my stupid conditions of saying January, no, I'm not taking that bet for myself, but I'm in for ANY month afterward!

So the bet is that it is lower today than it was in January of 2009? If so, you're on!!!!!!!!!!!! I will provide a link as soon as you verify that I knew exactly what we were betting.

Ha HAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! You weasled out just like I said you would. You have just proven what we all knew. You are defending Obama without cause and you just proved it. I knew I'd never see my $1000.

That was the exact site I was using. Hey, if you want to keep using that site and go with your last statement that it has dropped each month since Feb. of 2009 then I'm still on for the grand.

You hadn't taken me up on it yet either way, I was too cocky for my own good, as I knew the rate had been dropping, and assumed that it would be higher in January of 2009 than it is right now. Once I verified, my own technicality would have lost me that bet. Had I gone ANY MONTH since January of 2009, I'm the winner, but I would lose if I base it on January.

So, because you didn't commit to it, I'm not betting on that, but I'll month after January of 2009 compared to today for $1,000 to show that the unemployment rate is dropping. You in for that one?

So since the bet is now official, go back and read the very link you provided. Unemployment rose every month until topping out at 10% in October of 2009. You now owe me $1000. Let's see how you weasel out of this one.

That's why I only make bets I'll win! I assumed that it was lower today than when January, as it has been dropping since that time overall.

However, and as I said, I'm good for any bet from February 2009 until today, meaning that the unemployment rate is lower today than it has been in any other month since February 2009. Aside from one month, I'm pretty dead on accurate. You in?
