Stunned how? That the bought for elected government officials would try to stop the food from being labeled?
Btw for those who don't know LFTB = Pink Slime the ground meat that is washed in AMMONIA & then said to be fit for human consumption. I guess then it would be ok for me to pee on the griddle at mcDonalds then.
No, stunned that people who apparently scream and yowl about 'freedom" are now wanting to investigate the media for a "smear campaign" against meat processing plants, all the while disregarding Freedom of the Press.

I don't know if I have ever heard Branstad promote freedom. He was involved in trying to railroad the Ron Paul campaign in Iowa. But point taken. Pink Slime is exactly that & it just seems that Branstad is just protecting the vested interests that got him elected. Disgusting.
Most people would become vegans after one week working on a pig farm -less on a chicken or cow ranch. Then a visit to the processing plant and most would never eat processed anything again .
PS-those cute little piglets will never see the light of day. They move from one cage to another as they grow and are fed enormous amounts of food and hormones . Same with Chickens . Cows are fed grain which contains beef products=cannibalism=mad cow disease .
I'm glad I waited until the end of the video to comment because I was thinking the whole time about how this doesn't happen on small farms. The small farmer in America has been nearly destroyed just like every other mom and pop operation.
Do you know that right now in congress there is a bill to basically eliminate any kid 16 or under from working on a farm? They won't be allowed to feed animals, handle any animal over 6 months old, can't handle any crop that had pesticides used, can't work above 6ft from the ground (bailing hay, driving tractor) and they won't be allowed to use any power tool including an electric screwdriver. Which type of farm is this going to hurt? It's sad, they are trying to prohibit kids from helping out on family farms while at the same time trying to ban cameras in the big industry farms. I wonder why the government wants to have complete control of the food supply?
I think that dairy cows are still fed grass (I could be wrong on that), but beef cows are defintely fed just corn, which shouldn't have any beef products in it. They are fed the actual corn and the sileage from the corn, which there shouldn't be any beef products in.
Here is how this goes:
Chickens are fed beef products in their feed.
Then the chicken shit is put in products that are fed to the cows.
Hence the cows are eating themselves & this brings on Mad Cow disease.
