Default McCain is at the values summit?

Is that the same McCain who cut and ran from his invalid-after-an accident wife and their kids when he returned from Vietnam? Is that the same McCain who ran away with his new model girlfriend and then used her family's money to become a Senator?

Senator John McCain choked up when talking about a North Vietnamese prison guard who loosened his bonds and later drew a cross on the ground in front of him on Christmas Day.

Yeah, don't you just love it (not) when someone walks in and starts saying the absolute worst things about someone you barely know--and you didn't even ask?

John McCain did not just return from Nam. He was released after being held as a prisoner of war in Hoa Lo Prison for five and a half years. He could have taken a release that was offered him after being there for 6 months but he refused the release unless all the POWs that were there before him also got released. His life was an unimageable hell yet he put his personal needs aside to stand by his men. Many did not make it back and it is a testement to the strenght and courage of those that did. Transition back to the states was not easy for many Vietnam vets and it was much harder for returning POWs. The toll it took on their families and their personal lives was severe.

While I am not a McCain supporter for president I hold him in the highest regard. He is a hero for how he conducted himself while a prisoner at the Hanoi Hilton.

There are many targets out there in the political scene right now Big. To attack McCain on his family life after his return back to the world is just wrong.

I don't buy it. The only reason he was given a choice to leave is because he was the son of the admiral and the Vietnamese wanted a swap. Its not like many people were given a choice and he was the only one that refused. Thousands of others were there and were not even given a choice. Thousands died on both sides. Why does McCain get to present his story as a moral one?

Also, the issue still remains, he left his family and ran away with a rich girlfriend who gave him millions for political campaigns.

Where's 'clone to the rescue' on comments like this?? Or, how about the filthy invader question? You stand up for your boy earlier in the thread, but not now when the craziness comes out?? Either you agree or disagree, so tell us which it is.

I find it depicable that someone denounces a POW's time in prison and what he did four US soldiers and this country.

Besides, he was a filthy invader in that war. The whole war was immoral.

You always have to keep making more and more outrageous remarks to try and troll a response don't you Big?

By your definition I'm nothing but a filthy invader too.

The Vietnamese wanted to use McCain as leverage Big. Also if you knew anything about the situation he denied being released because they would not release any of the other men in that camp with him.

Also what do you mean by heleft his family. Do you mean he did not support them at all that his kids were not taken care of. He just up and abandoned them in the dead of night never to be seen again. Tell me please what you mean by that statement. Because I am from AZ and it has never been an issue for McCain to my knowledge. I am sure if he just abandoned his family it would have been a big issue in a conservative state with a large Mormon population, dont you think.
