Very interesting!!! "We the News Organizations" has replaced "We the People".
I watched the first few minutes, but I could not stand anymore. I like whacky vdeo and web sites as much as the next guy but 23 minutes is a little long for me to watch.
I think it is either a huge conspiracy to control the people or the major networks understand statistcial sampling and know that you can predict the behavoir of a whole population based on knwing the results from a small sample.
I don't know what to think. It is interesting that they can call an election after less than one percent of the vote is in. But maybe you're right. Although, there used to be a radio guy in Cincinnati named Mike McConnell. He's in Chicago now. Anyway, he always called for people to lie at exit polls just to see how it was reported. Sure enough, a local school levy was reported wrong long before it was corrected. Not saying he caused it, but he could have. Everyone listens to 700wlw around here. So I've always wondered about those exit polls.
the video embed function still seems to be screwed up

I didn't even open the link to the video, nor do I know thing one of what any of you are talking about, but that is the nature of social scientific research. Assuming that our sample is correct, we then use those sampled results to generalize to the larger population.
That's why we say after one study, that "Americans believe..."
I understand the polls and assumptions. But, like I said, people can lie about how they voted. And the video shows news organizations officially calling winners in races where not only was there less than one percent of the vote in, but the percentage that was in had them losing. Our news isn't supposed to be based on assumptions.
