Well in Kentucky that title has always gone to Joe Carr Jr., son of our greatest wrestling coach and nephew of Nate Carr. He went 3,1,2,1,1,1 in his 6 years at the varsity level. If it wasn't for a massive upset his sophomore year he would've been our only 5 time champ. His college career wasn't quite as good as we had hoped, I think he made the round of 12 once. Others mentioned are our only D1 all-americans, Kyle Ruschell and Dave Barnes. We have 4 kids right now who have a chance to one day claim that title, Caleb Ervin who is going to wrestle at Illinois; his cousin Brock Ervin, who might become our first 5 time champ; Kevin Cooper, our first Fargo All-American; and John Fahy who routinely techs and pins his way through the state tournament.

Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

From my point of view, the greatest wrestler California ever produced was, without question, my daughter. However, when I attempt a more subjective view, I might give Morris Johnson a vote.

    R.I.P. Cyrano and Roxanne.

I thought that Dave Shultz would have gotten the nod for California.

But Koll was the only one out of those guys to win a World Title.
