    ODH,

Would you consider the government owning houses and renting them out a good thing or a bad thing? I think it is just another way to implement Agenda 21 so that they can control the people, I see no other reason for them to do this. Here is a story from the AP about Obama considering doing just that. It hasn't happened yet, but if people just sit back and do nothing, then it will happen.

Quinn, acftually I think renting the houses is a good thing. Those foreclosures hurt home values. Renting them is harmless. I am not sure this is Agenda 21 in action.
I pictured you as that guy Gaylord in Showboat, passing up taxis to walk because he's broke and playing it off as if it's the doctor's advice. - Clmetal

I disagree. If these houses are owned by the government, then the government will own the renters. Have you ever seen government shrink any program they've ever started? This will just be expanded to government owning more and more homes or farms. I really don't see them renting out these homes just to help the market and then get out.

And, will they accept Section 8? If so, they are just paying themselves. If not, they have just gotten their foot in the door of people not yet on the government dole. They will probably charge less than people who currently are landlords and therefore end up putting them out of business. I just don't like the government getting involved in private business. And like I said, it will just spread. IMO

I don't agnecessarily agree with this policy, but I am sure it has nothing to do with Agenda 21.
There is an obvious reason for doing this that has nothing to do with "controlling the people". The government wants the economy to recover and believes low home values are dragging the economy down, but taking over houses and renting them they will increase home values.
There is no evil hidden agenda there.

Well, I hope you and leglace are right. But do you see this just a temporary thing the government will do or do you think it will set a precedence? I see it setting a precedence b/c, like I've said, government never shrinks it only expands.
