    Default Movie "Inside Job"

I have to first say that I did not care to watch this movie when I heard Matt Damon was narrating. I gave it a shot after hearing a lot of good stuff about this movie/documentary. I recommend everyone watch this movie. I realize we all have busy lives, and don't have always have time to look up a new title for rent and sit down and watch at home. However, I have to say that it has changed me. It has given me a new found anger in our banking system, world banks, politicians, ceo's etc... They painted a clear picture of what went on. Roubini had lots of segmentsin it, and its hard to believe he was telling us what was going on all this time, and was simply ignored. Everything that guy said was happening, and has happened. Its scary.

I found a newfound hatred for Paulson, Rubin, Summers, and AIG. my position on deregulation has totally changed. They paid poltiticians off to deregulate as they saw fit and gambled with money we never had at our expense. The group involved that rated all the subprime loans as AAA need to go to jail. The whole bit of insuring loans and having bets on on the side against those loans should be illegal. There can never be a larger conflict of interest.

Anyhow, I just wanted to share my thoughts, and highly recommend this movie. It has me second guessing my party affiliation as a whole as both democrat and republicans were deeply involved.

This stuff has been going on forever-as far as AMERICA is concerned it began with the monster from Hyde Island-OR the FEDERAL RESERVE BANK.
NOW THAT YOUR EYES HAVE BEEN OPENED -stay awake !

I am fully convinced that the 1st step was when we changed our monetary policy from gold to the world bank. It kills me how we keep pumping billions into the economy by writing bank notes, only to wind up in the hands of a select few. Why can't we write a big fat note and pay off our debts, and then go back to the gold standard?

FDR is a hero to so many people yet he forcably removed all private ownership of GOLD during one of his 4 terms -he literally made people turn in their gold for paper and if you did not comply you were imprisoned . He set up the war Times Act making him president for life and moving all power to the president and not ONE president since has changed back to the way the constitution was written .
I have heard 2 sources for this joke-one is from the Civil War and the other from Germany after WW I-a guy stops at a bar to get a beer after withdrawing all his money from his bank-he leaves a wheel barrow full of money sitting in the street and as he goes into the bar someone asks him if he is not afraid someone will steal his money. He smiles and said that paper is worthless and goes inside for a beer with Gold coins to pay with .When he comes out 15 minutes later ALL his cash is neatly stacked in piles but someone stole the wheel barrow...our paper currency is based upon NOTHING and even says onm it that it is a promissary note as legal tender for debts .

Then maybe Leglace you should look at the monetary policies of all the Presidential candidates. The only one calling for what you have said is Ron Paul.

I know nothing about this movie, but I have it on reserve at the library at your suggestion, Leglace. I am hoping this isn't a Michael Moore type thing, though. Is this all one-sided or do they look at it both ways?

Quinn, I was suspect of this in the same way. Especially with Matt Damon narrating. However, this was not the case. It really made me open my eyes that all parties were involved. As much as the left help create subrpime loans, the right opened up the doors and helped deregulate convenient things to help these jerks get rich.
