What do you say to this, Big?

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev warned Russians on Wednesday of the risk of a rebirth of Stalinism, saying their country was in danger of forgetting its tragic past.

Gorbachev is a nutless wonder that should rot in jail. The most worthless leader I have ever known.

Stalin's achievements are clear. The country with his help won the Revolution, the Civil War, the WWII and became a full blown World Power. Stalin died a happy man.

A country like England had nothing but to smear Stalin as a man to try and undo the greateness of Soviet Union and its accomplishments.

Having said that, those were brutal times and Stalin chose some brutal measures to achieve his goals. Chances are the country would be in chaos and the whole Europe would belong to Nazis if not for a strong yet brutal regime of Stalin.

Ladies and Gentelmen, always before denouncing Stalin and his purges, think of Native American so called purges during the conquest of America. Many that were eliminated in Soviet Union under Stalin were disruptive elements just like Native Americans were disruptive to bulding of capitalist America.

Ladies and Gentelmen, always before denouncing Stalin think of all the people so called Christians killed to purge the World of pagans and non-believers.

WHY DOES STALIN GET ALL THE BLAME FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS DONE OVER AND OVER THAT WE LOVE SO MUCH TODAY?

I will tell you why. The West pleads for human emotion to make sure no country like Soviet Union ever challenges the West and its ideals again.

Khruschev inherited Soviet Union after Stalin's death. The people of Soviet Union thought the World came to an end as their father, Stalin, died.

Khruschev figured to turn this negative feeling around he will smear Stalin by doing the same that the West is doing. What better way to turn attention to himself than to portray the problem of the brutal times of young Soviet Union was nobody but Stalin. Now he, Khruschev, will show the Soviet People the RIGHT way to live.

Gorbachev is trying to preserve his own legacy and his worthless and pathetic rule of the late 80s. Believe me I lived there. People were saying some thing must be in the Bible where a man with a huge Birthmark on his head would end the rule of one of the greatest Empires the World has ever seen.

People are not stupid though, even in Eastern Europe they are not stupid. Over time they see that FREEDOM is nothing but the West attempt to bully the countries of the world to do its dirty work. They look back to strong leaders when they see hopelessness and weakness. That is why the rise of Stalinism in Russia and the rise of Neo-Nazis in Eastern Germany are happening.

Big, you admit Stalin took brutal measures. Those are not ameliorated by any western propaganda to smear him, or by genocide committed against Native Americans, or by the crusades. Your argument is the same as those who argue that Christopher Columbus was a heroic figure--"Kill a few here and there? Aw, that was just consistent with the times".

I would argue Richard Nixon did a lot of good things as President. However, that does not wipe out the considerable amount of bad stuff he did.

So, are you saying the most important characteristic in a leader is that he be a strong guy--even if that means breaking some eggs?

    matclone,

Why do we say America the beautiful but Stalin and Soviet Union are evil when both countries were built on the blood of millions?

Why do we say Chistianity is good but Christians were bad when they killed non-believers but communism is bad because communists killed people?

Lots and lots of Western hypocrisy.

Yes Stalin did some brutal things BUT he did lots of great things for the country and the world that the West forgets to mention.

How many times have you heard Soviet Union and Stalin saved Europe from Nazis? Never in America. England and France were worthless. Italy and Spain fascist. America nowhere to be found until the end. Stalin rose the country and won the future.
