All major news organizations are verifying that the US has killed Osama Bin Laden

I understand Donald Trump is insisting on seeing the long-form death certificate.

Outstanding news.

A long time coming.

I wasn't exactly "happy" when I heard this, and I'm a little surprised. I was relieved. I got a little emotional as all the memories came flooding back. But mostly, I was just sad that a fellow human had died because of what he had let his life become. Hopefully this can be the final step in moving on from the tragedy that day. Not to forget, but to move on to the next step in our lives.

Well said Zapp. I was relieved to hear of the news, because a bad person won't be able to do bad things anymore. However, the celebrations that are apparently occuring in front of the White House are in poor taste IMO.

Reading the News Reports it doesn't seem like the US forces were all that concerned with capturing him alive. Maybe they thought a battlefield death was cleaner and easier for all concerned than having a big trail like the one Saddam did.

Has his successor been named yet ?
