No one saves us but ourselves, no one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path but Buddhas clearly show the way.

You know, I think I would rather be a man than a god . We don't need anyone to believe in us. We just keep going anyhow. It's what we do.
Sounds a little bit like John 14:6
Of course Gautama Siddhartha came 500 years before Jesus....
Did Jesus study Buddhism?
Depends if you interpret the original quote, (in Greek) as a PATH as in DOINGNESS or a belief in a person. I for one never thought that Jesus was talking about believe in me but follow me, lead a life the way I lived it & the gates of heaven (that are within not with out) open to you.
To me it is quite clear that Jesus never meant people to worship him just as Buddha intended for people not to worship him but walk the path. This is just another rehash of the faith vs works argument.
Since so many people take sport in challenging and disbelieving the bible wouldn't it then be equally fitting to hear them challenge and disbelieve Buddha?
In fact that is path of the path in Buddhism. Enlightenment is something you get by doing, like walking up the stairs. It is not something bestowed upon you. In that way you have an opportunity to see if the Master was correct or not. Belief is not a prerequisite for practice. The intention to know is.
Therefore the truth is the truth no matter which man speaks it; he is not the inventor.
Exactly the truth exists only waiting to be discover for each...
Some dig & then share what they have found...
