Default PBush Bails Out US Autos

Citing the failure of Congress to act before year end, Pres Bush extended funding from the Sept bailout package to GM, Ford and Chrysler with conditions for restructuring including pensions, due by March 31.

There are many economic experts that believe that bankrupcy is the best solution. The bailout money is money flushed down the toilet.

Bush could find a cure for cancer and still some people around here would criticize him.

Too many people are unable to view issues objectively.

It must be a convenient way to go through life... blaming everything bad in the world on Bush.

It doesn't require any thinking at all and allows a person to keep a clear conscience at the same time!

    Ignorance is bliss.

The UAW rollsover with concessions on wages and benefits. The US3 rollback to match Honda, Toyota....that's about a 15% wage reduction plus benefit concessions. Many of the parts suppliers have the UAW in their shops so this will also reduce the cost of parts supplied.

Amen. I'm not crazy about Bush, but it's not like things don't go through Congress, people really blame everything bad on him and never say anything good about him. The President has pretty limited power, but the way people talk you would think he was a dictator, throwing down edicts from him his balcony every morning.

We Americans are incredibly more rich than most of the world, and still complain about how we are hurting financially.

On the topic this bailout for the autos did not go through congress, it was stopped in the senate. Bush went over their heads and appropriated funds from the tarp fund which was meant for financial institutions. The big three should have been made to go through a bankruptcy and downsize with the support of the government. Until they did this the gov. should have kept its money.

I don't have a need to blame Bush for anything. The autos got themselves into this mess with bad union contracts and bad management. Bush should recognize this and let them fail. The handouts have got to end sometime. Or should we all line up at the treasury dept. and ask for our bailout check. I will be needing 350,00 or so to pay off all debt including my home and cars, where is my money. I know I will start wasting money and being irresponsible and then I will get it.
