Since you found that story on Fox News, I am sure it's made up. Or at least someone is about to tell you it is.

I don't see any quote from her in the article where she says border towns are safe. Did I miss it?

The story seems very reasonable and fairly reported except for its misleading headline.
She is not saying that there is no problems just that things are not as bad as most people believe due sensationalized reporting.

"Numbers are in the right direction and dramatically so," she said.

I actually haven't been able to find data to contradict what she says, and I do this stuff for a living!

Here's just a sampling that is available for anyone to be able to find.

Why do conservatives do this? Why can't you lead with THIS? This is enough to debate and argue about. Fabricating what was said, such as the "dealth pannels" and other such issues only hurts any argument you may make.

There's a ridiculous disconnect between "borders are safe" and "the numbers are moving in the right direction."

Ban, I know you are a numbers guys only but even you have to admit that numbers can be misleading. The numbers say violent crime is getting better here in Phoenix and Tucson (where i live and where i travel to a lot) however i can tell you for a fact that it has gotten worse. There is a reason in the past few years Napolitano and HHS have put up signs telling Americans to stay out due to drug trafficing and the fact that the cartels practically own that land. Hell even law enforcement doesn't go into those places or confront the drug cartels often (due to being under gunned).

I could go on and on about how Phoenix and Tucson have changed due to drug cartel violence and how it is affecting the lives of US citizens and illegals but i don't have actual data.

It looks like the border patrol agents don't agree with their boss. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...ng-false-sens/

Before you get on your high horse you should also know that was the same headline that was in the left leaning paper called the Arizona Republic.

Number can be misleading and statistics can be manipulate, but without any data how can you "can tell .. for a fact that it has gotten worse. "
