I am not saying they falsify information. I am saying they don't provide it in many cases. We have a vaccination for malaria, yet thousands of people in Africa are dying from it every day. We have great AIDS medication, just look at Magic Johnson and Tommy Morrison. Yet, many people are not getting it. It is all because of money. There is not other reason for the disparity in health care throughout the world. If the people developing these drugs or discovering new methods of treatment would allow the world to have access to it, instead of selling out for money, the world would be healthier.

Doctors could also do a lot of prevention teaching that they don't do. Especially to family and friends in the waiting room of a dying loved one. That is a perfect time to teach them about the disease and how to prevent it, but it doesn't happen.

I agree with those thoughts quinn, but you have put the blame in the wrong place. Those doctors developing those medicines and cures are working for corporation who own their findings. Those corporation are not going to give away that which they own, they are in business to make a profit. The doctor has no rights whatsoever to his findings.

Quinn, a lot of my family members are doctors in Africa and they struggle a lot with the issues you mention. A key problem is this: how do you provide low-cost drugs to those to those who are unable to afford them (ie poor Africans) while still making enough profit from those who can afford to pay (ie Magic Johnson)? Pharmaceutical companies are capitalists like everyone else, but unfortunately their desire for profit all-too-often comes at the expense of other's lives.

I've wanted to watch the movie "no Intelligence" for awhile, maybe I'll rent it and then share my thoughts.

Arm_spin, be sure to take notes and then research the issue they fraudulently claim in the movie. It is easy to debunk nearly every single point they make. There are tons of web sites that have already done the work for you too. Make the movie really a laugher when you think about it.
