You said I dont have time to be a conspiracy theorist. What are you taking about here?
To your first point I dont think empire building ever ends unless we have one world government. Beyond that there will always be the need for countries gain power.

When I say I dont have time to be a conspiracy theories I mean I dont have time. It is very time consuming to constantly look for the man behind the curtain. I look at the issues take them through a filter and come to a conclusion based on the information at hand. I know that there is other information I dont know but I cant worry myself with it at all times because I am not in a position to obtain such information nor could I do anything with it. I tend to view America as the greatest nation on earth even with its flaws, we are very good at self correction.

When you say that you dont think our nation is doing what is best or good (not an exact quote) it sounds like you are looking to unmask the wizard. Or trying to see what perhaps might not be there almost in an attempt to not be duped. That is not to say that you have first hand experience and a reason to do so. I simply do not have any such reason.

I am also fine with fact that I do not can not and will not know everything about the nations dealings because it is impractical for me to know.

Anyway, a great book on the CIA is by Tim Weiner, here: http://www.amazon.com/Legacy-Ashes-H...2446312&sr=8-1

    An amazing book, highly recommended.
My point on the Neocons isn't a Rep/Dem issue, it's about a faction within the GOP that have helped to create threats to which they then in turn use to justify the empire building. The Manhattan Institute is the group that brought us the phrase "compassionate conservatism" for Bush. She may have worked for left wing media but she is not left wing if she works @ the MI.

And to prove a point, I could crack a can of whompuss on the entire pro-healthcare reform wing of the Dems. More lining of pockets.

The book sounds more like a comedy. I will check it out....

Unless you decide to do something about it then of course it will never change. I choose to do something about it & never think that they isn't anything you can do to handle it.

I got it on the time. A good read, I may have suggested before is John Perkins Confessions of an Economic Hitman. (Amazon.com: Confessions of an Economic Hit Man (9781576753019): John Perkins: Books)

I find it impractical NOT to know...not to be a contrarian but that's just how I am.

I don't mean it as a swipe but with your own spiritual beliefs I don't really understand how you could not be interested in doing something about the government that does so many things contrary to the teachings of Jesus. War is not compatible with Christian thought as far as I am concerned.

We can agree to disagree on th empire building and knowing because I can assure you I am firm in my stance there, I will say it is not that I dont want to know but in order for the government to funcion they cant tell us everything. I also see your point and understand it.

When you say the country does many things contrary to the teaching of christ, I say name me a country that does not. This country has to do what is its best interest, for its citizens and its sovereignty. If it was up to me we would all live under the teachings of Christ but of course we can not because not everyone believes in them. I have to look at the government at fair and equal to all, that is how I square it. If I wanted the countries actions to square with my faith then, gays and lesbians would never be allowed to marry and everyone.

Jesus says give to cesar what is cesars and some believe that thse of faith should not intervene in government affairs.

So this is where I we are

I believe that the U.S does mostly good, you disagree
I believe that we can not know everything in order for the government to fulfill objectives, you disagree
You believe that empires will cease I disagree
We just simply disagree and I dont think that either is wrong, we just look at the world in a different way.

Here is EXACTLY why we need a media outlet & internet presence like Wiki-Leaks:
