My 30 year old Pastor passed away on Friday morning. He lived a rough life. He had a kidney transplant at the age of 11 in Pittsburgh. He had a heart attack 2 months ago and was told he would have to have another transplant. He learned 2 weeks ago he was going to need a kidney transplant. He left behind a wife and 3 young children. PLYMOUTH - Pastor Kevin Willard Morris, 30, went to be with his Lord and Saviour early Friday morning, November 21, 2008, while waiting on a second heart transplant and kidney transplant. He was born September 13, 1978, in Mansfield. He preached the Gospel for 12 years, serving as pastor at Paradise Free Will Baptist Church for the past two years. Kevin was the Director of Kinder Care in Dublin at the Knowledge Learning Corp. He graduated from Pioneer Career and Technical Center where he received the Byron Carmean Award- an award granted to non-traditional students and received his Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education at The Ohio State University. Kevin was an avid OSU Buckeye and Cleveland Browns fan and liked to fish. At the age of 11, he underwent a heart transplant, a very special gift allowing him to spend 19 more years with his family and friends. Kevin will be fondly remembered as a devoted husband, father, son, brother and pastor who loved the Lord and showed it in all he did.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer (Fields) Morris, whom he married July 10, 1999; three children, Dylan, Madyson, and Keiygan Morris, all at home; parents, Clyde and Charlotte Ann Morris of Ontario; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lonnie and Karen Fields of Castalia; paternal grandmother, Juanita Morris of Mansfield; maternal grandfather, Bill Rose of Mansfield; sister, Angie Carroll of Ontario; two brothers-in-law, Joseph and Linda Fields, and Matthew Fields, all of Castalia; five nieces, Katie, Sammi, Cassidy, Mariah and Delaney; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his two children lost through miscarriage; maternal grandmother, Angelena Rose; paternal grandfather, Bill Morris; great-grandmother, Gertrude Hess; great-grandfather and namesake, Willard Rose; and an uncle, Garry Rose.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, November 25 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors with evening services at 8:00 p.m. by Evangelist Randy Nichols. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Shelby First Free Will Baptist Church with Evangelist Chris Russell and Pastor Matthew Pond officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Plymouth. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family to a trust fund for the higher education of his children.
