Taliban can actually be reasoned with
Go figure, all they wanted is all the South Korean Christian missionaries out of their country.
GHAZNI, Afghanistan - The Taliban agreed Tuesday to free 19 South Korean church volunteers held hostage since July after the government in Seoul pledged to end all missionary work and keep a promise to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan by the end of the year.
Re: Taliban can actually be reasoned with...NO
Not exactly...The Taliban's intitial demands were the release of numerous prisoners. It seems that the locals condemning their taking of the women as hostages was against that areas Islamic beliefs. It's been suggested that they received a huge amount of ransom money; since the release this has been denied. It seems some ransom money may have been paid. As far as reasoning goes, NO! They were chastised and humiliated by the locals. Korea was set to pull out in December; nothing changed there. Not sending missionaries to this area is a no brainer. Don't give them credit where it isn't due. They are a murderous group intent on eventually subjugating this entire planet.

The Taliban isn't totally stupid. If any harm came to a bunch of Asian missionaries, the entire Asian population would have wanted their necks too. They probably wanted to unload the baggage of caring for them.
