The Dems & GOP's are both as a whole, out of step with reality simply because they make their decisions NOT based upon whats the best for the country but whats best from them personally & for their biggest lobbyists & financial contributors.

My opinion on the Tea party is that I agree with the central principles of the movement. I want fiscal responsibility and less government and taxation. I believe that everyone should pay taxes but it has been proven that excessive taxation on any economic class lowers the amount of revenue taken in by the government. We also know that excessive taxes on the rich or corporation cause jobs to go overseas and bring up the cost of goods because the tax is passed on. We can look back on our history and see that the government is not good at running itself and when it tries to expand it costs us more than we can pay for, it also causes dependency on the government.

I think there are a fringe of the tea party that are crazy just as it is with all political parties. The tea party is the result of the republicans completely running from the principles they professed to have. So if the republicans get back to what they say they are then the tea party will go away.

A lot in American Politics over the past 100 years has become increasingly controlled by a smaller number of people. If you are outside the agenda of those in power they will do everything to portray you as a loon. Including inventing shit. Many in the Tea Party are voicing what Ron Paul has been saying for 4 years & he has been a proponent of Ludwig von Mises's Austrian School of Economics. Those ideas advocate taking away the power from the Central Banks. They have been the one's in power & anyone who has challenged them for hundreds of years has been crushed.
