And I must chime in to say that as a recent toothache sufferer who is now 100% cured, I am personally THRILLED that my dentist benefited from my misery!

No he isn't. This is about the only type of pain I cannot do. I will go to a dentist, with no insurance, and don't care what the fee is. The Dentist get my money and benefits from the only type of pain I don't do well. The Tom Hanks movie is a good illustration as to what I would do in that situation. Seriously.
I am 49, bald, ugly, and don't own a single cool thing. Kids like me though.

I just had all 7 of my metal filling removed & replaced with NO pain meds. All in one day. But we digress...

The dentist vs abortion analogy is just not worth commenting upon.

Do you really think that that MD was some altruistic health care professional helping a woman terminate a pregnancy or some guy looking to make a buck?

Owning my own biz I know what my mark ups are & what my profit is. I also know that in the health care biz the mark ups are huge. Even if that MD is making 1/2% of his gross, (which NO ONE would settle for that little believe me) he is making about $1000 per day marketing & performing abortions, which IS terminating life.

Sometimes what is legal & what is right are 2 different things.

I am very glad she survived & that she is doing what she is doing. Good for her.
No, whe was not talked into having the abortion, she was talked to by nurses and receptionist and given the choices and given the opportunity to make the decision herself. Trust me I know, we used planned parenthood in our early marriage because we could not afford a real doctor. The doctors never do the consultation, it is always a woman nurse. At least back in the seventies when this happened.

It was indeed legal back then, and it was up to the woman and her health care professionals to decide what was right.l

No it wouldn't be for you because it makes your position untenable.

THAT was YOUR experience. Doesn't mean it was the same as her biological mother's. I doubt very much you went in there with a 7 month pregnancy & was told to abort.

    My position?

All I did was share someone else's viewpoint as an antidote to the legal argument. A woman who survived an abortion. Your answers make me think you celebrate death as all I am doing to celebrating someone who survived & has an opinion. Sorry that opinion seems to bother you or seem worthy or you lessening it.

No because it demonstrates to me someone making light of someone else's fight to live.
