Thread: Say they never get it capped...

In that speech he condemned the government for having people in toxic water 5 days after the tragedy. It just seems like an Inconvienant Truth that the worst environmental disaster in our nation's history happened under his party's watch, so he stays quiet.

Possibly, but he's also going through a divorce right now, isn't he? Probably isn't thinking about the oil spill all that much.

I have no idea. But, then again, I didn't sign up to be the leader of the free world. And what could Bush have done about Katrina? Could he have stopped a hurricane? Could he have made people get out of there? People didn't heed the warnings and then blamed him.
Once again, being the President doesn't give you magic oil-well-capping powers. If the technology doesn't work, the technology doesn't work. If there is a lack of money, or manpower, or something the government can actually provide, then criticism may be justified.

Why are people blaming "Bush guys" for this? If the Bush guys were so bad, why didn't Obama fire them before this happened? Why didn't it happen on Bush's watch?
Blaming George Bush at this time does indeed sound petty, we agree here.

Bringing up the most outspoken environmentalist on the subject of the worst environmental disaster in the nation's history is random? WTF?

I asked Ban for the links he said he had and got no response. So, would you two either back up what you're saying or stop saying it. I know, Ban, that you said am radio, but you said you were going to send links that would suprise me. I haven't seen them. I am willing to learn, but I am not going to just read a post that claims something without backup and take it to heart.

Bush was destroyed by the media for Katrina and so far, Obama is getting a pass on this.
Do you still need proof? Seriously? If you do, then I assume that you really haven't been following the issue, as no one who follows it has not heard people blaming President Obama for it.

Need proof? Listen to comedian/party boss Rush Koresh Limbaugh for less than one hour this week.

More proof? Listen to co party boss Sean McVeigh Hannity for less than one hour this week.

Need further proof? Listen to Fixed News for one hour this week and you'll see commentators blaming President Obama.

Need even further proof? Go on Hannity.com and read the message boards.

If this isn't enough to show you how people are blaming President Obama for it, then I would absolutely have no evidence to provide for you.

I guess that I am a bit baffled by something since all of this has happened. If government is in essence a bad thing, blocks our true freedom and potential, and screws up everything that it gets involved in, why would people even want government involved in this mess? Why, in this case, is the government such a perfect agency to solve this problem, and why is the free market (whatever that is) suddenly unable to solve this problem?

We're paying for a large bloated government, so I'm baffled by why our large bloated government can't pitch in on this and backcharge BP. The lefties and the D's present government as the solution to all problems, so I'm baffled as to how this risk escaped the eyes of our beneficent, all-knowing community organizer president.

If you present big government as the solution to everything then you'd better be able to prove so when we need it. I assume our government is a bigger expert on health care than on cleaning up oil spills. Or at least I hope so.

I don't want government involved. Others thought Bush and his administration should have solved Katrina. I didn't. I find it funny how it was government's fault then, but not now. I know the free market will solve this problem. That's why Obama isn't doing anything about it. You answered your own question. Liberals were the one screaming about gov't not saving the people who CHOSE not to leave after 3 DAYS OF WARNING about Katrina. So why aren't they wanting gov't now? The answer is because the president isn't a republican and so he gets a pass.

Looks like you got me there. There is no evidence that anyone has blamed President Obama for this.

What a fool I was for thinking otherwise...
