However, after I saw this exchange on the news last night, I couldn't help but wonder about the competency of Palin. Just the use of "ya" is alarming. Couric and the Maverick
Poised and confident is not how she looked with Couric. On Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Couric asked Palin for an example of where McCain has led the charge for more oversight. Says Couric, “[McCain’s] been in Congress for 26 years. He’s been chairman of the powerful Commerce Committee. And he has almost always sided with less regulation – not more.” Palin: “He’s also known as a maverick though. Taking shots from his own party, and certainly taking shots from the other party.” Couric: “I’m just going to ask one more time, not to belabor the point – specific example in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation.” Palin: “I’ll try to find you some, and I’ll bring ‘em to ya.”
As those last words fumbled from her mouth, you know she was saying, “Get me out of here.”

I'd like to phone a friend."

I damned sure don't want an executive politician saying it, especially when coupled with her response.

If she says "oofta" it might be a cause for concern but I think I'll let her slide on this one. | | |

I guess that I can't help but think of it in the context of her ending every "ing" in "in" (goin fishin), as well as the responses she gives to things. As they said last night on Olbermann, the punchlines that will forever be used as jokes were actual things that she said!
Maybe it's just me...

Maybe it's just me... | Bush has this same issue and got elected twice. Lincoln was notorious for this and it actually strengthened his appeal with the "common" folk.
Pointing out such things folks sound elitist. Being somebody who is too lazy to spellcheck, or clean up my grammar, even I get annoyed by the grammar police. Basically it is going too far.
On the otherhand..... the responses that have you saying... "wtf was that all about".... that make no sense whatsoever...... those are fair game.
