Could AZ shut off Cal.

This is a great bit of leverage for Arizona I think and I think they should do it. They should indeed cut off the power supply to Cali if they want to force harm onto the Arizona economy. I am sure that Texas and Colorado would take similar measures if their states were going to be boycotted for no real reason.

Shut California down, they cant sustain themselves economically or with their own power or water for that matter.

Better yet just let all of the illegal immigrants move to California for amnesty but they have to stay there.

They don't actually have the power to shut it off, from what I understand. The AZ official I heard said he sent a letter saying essentially that if they are really going to boycott AZ that they should turn off their own power coming out of AZ (they have contracts to either run the facilities or receive power from them)

In the article there was an excerpt from the letter where the man was saying he would try and convince the AZ utility board to cut off the power.

It makes sense the other way also. If you dont like what AZ is doing make the complete boycott and dont use the bigoted states energy.

Either way works for me.

I assume contracts would first need to expire then Arizonia could turn off the free energy they give to Ca.

I saw this on FoxNews and whoever it was (Hannity, I think), was like, "If you can't turn it off, why are you on my show?" lol.

Couple of things...... first about 80% of the revenue the Arizona utilities make come from California. Second...... if Arizona wants to get into an economic war with the 800lb gorilla next door who do you think is going to win? There is little Arizona can do to California that won't significantly hurt Arizona as well..... especially in the current economy. As has been suggested; this is all about politics and posturing.

My first thought when reading this thread was that losing a major energy client would probably hurt Arizona's economy more than the lose of municiple contracts from a few cities?

And if all the illegals moved to CA, how many of the companies that employ them would follow? Removing cheap labor from a workforce doesn't improve an economy (as all free-market proponents would tell you).

Los Lakers are shutting off Los Suns. Los Suns need to tap into that energy or their season will go to black.

i would say the lakers are treating the suns like a JV team. i saw part of the game last night and they looked like they were playing with the Suns.
