Why do the aliens come in secret. Obviously if they can get here their technology is great and they nothing to fear from us. Also if they have come why have they not tried to conquer us.

I know people speculate that the pyramids and the nazca lines were made by aliens. This is complete bunk IMO and I will wait until I see something myself or something big happens before I can believe anything.
Good post Ugly, I think I agree with everything you say. If alien lifeforms DID visit Earth and the goverment DID know about it, why would they hold secret cover-ups? Since those who detected the hypothetical aliens would likely be pilots, radar operators, emergency crews ect and those who investigated them would be experienced scientific researchers instead of high-level government officials the government would also need to keep everyone "in the know" quiet. Quiet a task, and may I repeat, WHY?

It is obvious from your post, UGLY, that YOU are an alien living among us, and are attempting to divert attention from yourself by playing the sceptic. Although you have risen to the position of Exalted Moderator, your ruse has now been exposed and you and your green-skinned, lizard-like associates can expect swift and conclusive elimination.

    2. How come when people talk of life on other planets, they always assume that they are more intelligent than us? Couldn't we be the intelligent lifeforms?

    2) yes

"It is critical to know what to look for in the search for life in the solar system. The search so far has focused on Earth-like life because that's all we know, but life that may have originated elsewhere could be unrecognizable compared with life here. Advances throughout the last decade in biology and biochemistry show that the basic requirements for life might not be as concrete as we thought." Titan's Methane Mystery - ScienceNOW
"UV radiation is continually destroying the methane," says planetary scientist and co-author Anthony Del Genio of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York City, so all of the methane should have disappeared long ago, even accounting for rainfall. Then where is the methane coming from?

Life on Ceres: Could the Dwarf Planet have seeded life on Earth?
Also, Ceres appears to have gotten off fairly lightly during the Late Heavy Bombardment, allowing it to retain its surface water. If the Earth had any life before this era, it is possible that the violent impacts sterilized the planet. In this case, it is possible life arrived to Earth via a shard of another planetary body in the form of a meteorite.

A Curious Case of Genetic Resurrection
A Curious Case of Genetic Resurrection - ScienceNOW
Some genes just won't stay dead. Between 40 million and 50 million years ago, a slice of DNA called IRGM stopped functioning in the ancestors of modern-day monkeys. But 25 million years later, in the lineage that led to humans and great apes, three random events turned the gene back on.

    Scientists find new bacteria species
CNN:Scientists find new bacteria species previously not found on Earth, in the upper atmosphere
Indian scientists have discovered three new species of bacteria in Earth's upper stratosphere that are resistant to ultraviolet radiation, researchers said. The bacteria do not match any species found on Earth. They were found in samples that scientists collected when they sent a balloon into the stratosphere, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said in a statement Monday.

    Southpaw Solar System
    Southpaw Solar System - ScienceNOW
For the past 4 years, astrobiologists Daniel Glavin and Jason Dworkin of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, have been searching for the answer by carefully studying the molecular deposits inside six meteorites found in Antarctica and Australia. The space rocks are more than 4.5 billion years old, making them older than Earth. Today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the researchers report that they expected to find a 50:50 ratio of right- to left-handed amino acids in the rocks, but instead they found the ratio of amino acids tilted toward left-handedness in all six specimens. In one of the rocks, the imbalance was 18%, the largest ever reported for a meteorite. "I have to admit I didn't believe it at first," Glavin says.

PLoS Genetics: Rapid Pathway Evolution Facilitated by Horizontal Gene Transfers across Prokaryotic Lineages
The acquisition of new genetic programs among prokaryotes appears to depend entirely on horizontal gene transfer (HGT). This new research demonstrates even more about the effectiveness of bacterial gene transfer. We think horizontal gene transfer has profound implications for evolutionary theory.

That IS the right QUESTION. If you have enough guts to ask it then you need enough guts to go find that answer because it will not be given to you.

I am very skeptical of any science that tells us what is beyond our ability to reach it. It is a good guess that carbon dioxide is on another planet based on what we know but there are so many variables, like the possibility of a gas that we have not discovered that has the same characteristics of Carbon Dioxide. You just cant be certain with so many variables.

I guess Spectral analysis is just a cut above Voodoo.

I suppose the scientists I mention are all crazy especially the PhDs.

I guess the University of Arizona, Stanford University & the ilk are bodies that operate solely off of supposition.

The metallurgical science used to helped build & engineer structures is the same science used to analyzed the implants.

I guess some of you would like to keep your opinions as fact as opposed to reading the science on the things I refer to.

Carbon Dioxide on another planet is a good guess? THAT is just complete ignorance on your part I am sorry. I provide data to study & you dismiss as a good guess. I guess a2 + b2 = c2 or Pi or Diffferential Calculus were all good guesses.
