A lawsuit filed on behalf of PERA employees who have retired is aimed at restoring cost of living increases and other benefits that were reduced with Colorado legislation. I have to say I see the PERA side of it but at the same time if they are running a 30 billion unfunded liability then there have got to be cuts made. There is no way that the state or federal government can afford to pick up the tab for these increases. Better to let some decreases in now than to lose the entire pension plan later.
