did taxfoundation.org mention that for the decade or so leading up to and the first couple years of the depression taxes were steadily decreased?

Read the Federalist if you want to know what the founders thought about taxation.

Name one nation in the history of the world that has not taxed.

We are taxed to death because we have allowed the government to expand.

So I looked up you so called facts here is a brief history from Wiki but other sites confirm, and you seem to be wrong on all counts.

I don't know how much I can keep this up because you seem to be a conspiracy theorist and a hard line libertarian. Next thing I know you are going to bring up how the Free masons rule the world and I cant handle that kind of stuff.<o></o>

    </td> </tr> </tbody></table>
    YOU SAY:
    1) wrong on all counts?<o></o>
This is a FACT: The first income tax created in 1862 was thrown out of the Supreme court in 1895 as Unconstitutional. Look up the Revenue Act of 1862.<o></o>
    <o></o>
This is a FACT: the bankers got in charge of printing the money & created a central bank in 1913...The Fed Act was passed in 1913.<o></o>

This is a FACT: they then created the Income tax in 1916 which is a Marxist idea pure & simple. Read The Communist Manifesto. That's where you will find it. NOT in our constitution! The 16th amendment was basically the amendment that opened the door to creating the IRS, (yes it passed in 1913, it was late & I wrote 1916 as it was the 16th amendment).
    <o></o>
This is a FACT: It was on excessive profits on companies. The accepted rate of return for companies in the WWII was 10%. Anything over that was taxed @ 90. Look up Excess Profits Tax.<o></o>
    <o></o>
    2) conspiracy theorist and a hard line libertarian?<o></o>
This is just basically an attempted slur & I have not made my posts personal. You have also put words in my mouth which is just another debating technique which avoids facts.
    <o></o>
If you are inferring that I am a "conspiracy theorist" then please point out to me what I have said that indicates that to you, as usually someone who uses that label in turn really means that anything I say can be easily dismissed as the words of "nutjob."

If subscribing to the <st1>Austrian School </st1><st1><st1></st1></st1>of Economics & to the elimination of a FIAT currency makes me a "CT" then so be it. Me and a few other million academicians & politicians, the founding fathers included.
    <o></o>
You are the one inferring that I am a hard line Libertarian. That would be a person who advocates the abolition of ALL taxes. Please show me where I said that. I have not. I am somewhere in between republican & libertarian.
    <o></o>
The Communist Manifesto was published in 1848. 14 years before the creation of the Revenue act of 1862. One of it's planks was the INCOME TAX. This sort of taxation was NOT what the founding fathers had in mind.
    <o></o>
    Also, Marx had a 10 point program<o></o>
    1) The Abolition of property & the application of all rents to go towards public purposes.
We don’t have this but we do have public domain.<o></o><o></o>

    2) A heavy progressive tax, where production is penalized.<o></o><o></o>
    We do have this.<o></o><o></o>

    3) Abolition of all right of inheritance<o></o>
We don’t have this but inheritance is heavily penalized unless well protected.<o></o><o></o>

    4) Confiscation of the property of all emigrants & rebels<o></o>
We don’t have this unless they have broken some law. However it is seen more today in the media that if somehow you do not agree with the government you are somehow UNamerican. Dissent is what built this country.<o></o>

    5) Centralization of monetary policy & credit markets in the hands of the government with State credit and an exclusive monopoly<o></o>
We have a Central Bank, (the Fed) in the hands of Private Institutions not the government, (State).
    <o></o>

    6) Centralization of the media & transport in the hands of the State.
With the advent of Corporate consolidation of our media, this is fast approaching. ABC/Disney, CBS/Viacom, NBC/GE, Fox News Corp & CNN/Time/Warner own 90% of the media in the <st1:country-region u4:st="on"><st1></st1></st1:country-region><st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1>United States</st1> </st1:country-region>today. It was a lot more diverse 20 years ago.<o></o> Amtrak is a government owned transport company & we can see how successful that is.<o></o><o></o>

    7) Extension of manufacturing owned by the State; the cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a general plan<o></o>
With these “corporate buy outs” the government, (the State) has more say in the largest American corporation then ever before, (GM, Ford, B of A etc).<o></o>

    8) Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of industrial armies especially for agriculture<o></o>
Food is now grown less with the idea of properly feeding a population but more to do with maximizing profits. More farms now are in the hands of corporations & less in the hands of independent farmers.<o></o><o></o>

    9) Combination of agriculture with manufacturing; gradual abolition of the distinction between urban & rural by a more equitable distribution of the populace over the country.<o></o><o></o>
Agriculture is now AgriBusiness however we are more urbanized now then ever before.<o></o><o></o>

    10) Free education for all children in public. Abolition of child labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production.<o></o><o></o>
This first part we have however we can see what has happened to our education standards over the past 60 years. We are dumbing down our populace. The 2nd part has been done which one of few things I can agree with in this program however the 3rd step is the door opening to indoctrination & propaganda.<o></o><o></o>
    <o></o>
With all that in mind take a look @ what has been introduced into our country that has nothing to do with the Constitution.
    <o></o>
@ this point all of the health care reform bills in congress with just be another tax that will do little to benefit the people & will have more to do with enriching the current "corptacracy" of the insurers, big pharma & the AMA.
    <o></o>
Nowhere do these bills supply you with a choice other then drugs & surgery. Nowhere is there any mention of chiropractic & non-pharma medical answers to health care problems. In addition there is plenty of "parity" for equal MENTAL HEALTH care coverage to equal the regular medical. That is something you definitely DO NOT want.
    <o></o>
Unless we demand something different from the people in DC we will end up sicker & <o></o>
    poorer then we were before.<o>

    KR1963,

I said you seem to be a conspiracy theorist and a hard line libertarian I am not trying to slur you or undermine you. I am simply stating where I believe your thoughts are coming from.

I presented facts from different sites, I did not just assert that I was correct. If you could provide something to challenge other than your personal knowledge I would like to look at it.

    Ugly

I told you what a CT & HLL were & asked you to tell me what I said to make you come to your supposition. I know what those things refer to & I have siad nothing to support what you say.

    you said
you seem to be wrong on all counts
I provided you with even more exact things that you could reference outside my knowledge of history. If you study what I provided I am sure you will retract your assumptive & incorrect statement.

As far as the title of this thread are I ask if you have read thru both versions of the health care reform bills?
