They are speaking and answering questions side by side on C-Span and Bush looks like a clown next to PM Brown. Brown looks and sounds at least like a smart politician. Bush is just throwing jokes and sound bites around and just doesn't look presentable.

They used to have the British Commons on C-Span--don't know if they still do. Tony Blair would have to stand in front of the entire House of Commons, take critical questions--often about complex policy questions--and answer on his feet. And he did this well. Bush wouldn't last 5 minutes in that sort of environment.

Clone they do still have it on C-span and I watch it all the time. I love it and wish our government would 1) Show up like the Brits do and 2) ask some of those questions and get a live candid response from any of them including the Pres.

I agree, it is cool to watch that kind of politics in action. I also like (about the Parliamentary system) the fact that more than two parties are represented.

Me too but in America it would probably lead to more inability to agree or make changes for the people than it would balance the system.

I saw that too. It is fun theatrics too. Prime minister has to stand up while talking and promptly sit down when he is finished. When he stands up everyone else does too. Funny!

I love the heckling they get from their oponents and the way they greet another by saying most honorable gentleman or some crap right before they rip them.

Bonnie if you close your eyes and listen to them speak an english accent makes anyone sound smart. I thought Blair was very smart and the only bad move he made was standing by Bush.
