You leave behind, potentially, a physical residue in off-spring. You also leave behind, potentially, and to varying degrees depending on the individual, a spiritual residue spread among everyone you meet.

That's an interesting concept, spiritual residue. I hadn't looked at it that way before, but it's really something to think about. People definitely live on through DNA and memories, but spiritual residue is kind of an interesting idea.

Sounds like a really good reason to be careful about washing your hands thoroughly.

    Now enters Joshu's MU-
When asked by an impudent pupil -(read smart ass student)-if all things contain Buddha Nature -which is a given in Buddhism -Joshu-a famous teacher/Monk -screamed MU-which means NO !! This answer so shocked the pupil he instantly attained enlightenment . ALL THINGS contain Buddha Nature
The sound of one hand clapping is an ancient Koan used in Meditation along with 'what was your name -before you were born ???''
    3) Of course . But a wise man does not care what a woman thinks .

Even if those people chose their fate. How is it that God is responsible for people not believing? If I told you not to step in front of a bus because you would get killed and you chose to do it anyway, I am not at fault, you are. The same goes with God or any God, if you choose to believe and live a life that is within the construct of that religion then you obtain the gifts of that faith. If you choose not to believe then you get none of the gifts and possibly a punishment, depending on the religion.

Do you think that those who choose not to believe yet live a perceived good life should make it to heaven? If that is the case I would assume you think kids who tried hard in school but dont do what it takes to get A's, or cant get A's they should just be given an A for the effort. If they dont get an A is that the teachers fault are those students who got an A bad for doing what the teacher asked and obtaining an A?

I could go on all day with different examples.

To me this is just rationalization and doesn't change that the vast majority of humanity doesn't go to the Christian heaven, and for most of them they never had a realistic chance (any child born in a non-Christian culture for example). Any God who sets up such a screwed up system that exempts almost everybody except those who were lucky enough to be born in a Christian culture, much less good people who were but were not Christians, is not a God I would worship, nor want to spend an eternity with. I wouldn't worship such a God even if He could be proven to exist.

I understand what you are saying but I dont see it that way. I see it as if you get the information and you choose otherwise then you have made your own bed. No one is excluded by Gods doing. God does not choose who gets in and who does not. So I understand your thoughts I just think you are blaming God when he is not to blame, because no where in the Bible does he exclude anyone from the chance to get into heaven. The opposite is true, the Bible says John 10:9-10 I am the door; if any one enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly..

So all are welcome. I think the greater question for you Scott is, should God just have made us believe in him and this debate could have never taken place.

It wouldn't make any difference to me, I still wouldn't worship such a God nor want to spend an eternity with such an entity. That would be a version of Hell.

And an enlightened man already knows what a woman thinks so therefore says nothing....
