Please don't listen to this if you are easily offended. It's just a comedian and he's saying what I was trying to say. I hope you all can get a laugh out of it.

So as long as there's a kernel of truth somewhere, a joke can be considered funny?....

Actually, without trying to sound like a wet blanket, that is precisely why most jokes are offensive. They take a perspective/point of view or physical trait/characteristic et al. and exaggerate it to such a ridiculous extreme that the only ones who see the humor are the ones who DON'T share the perspective or trait being mocked.

I'm pretty liberal but I don't recall seing too many liberal bashings of conservative viewpoints that I would consider especially funny either.

Tell that to Lisa Lampanelli or Gilbert Gottfried, they are funny because they are offensive and truthful. Why is it that so many people like the daily show?

There is a little to much sensitivity here. It is not like he was blasting a race like Chris Rock might. He was posting funny generalizations about a political affiliation. I have seen many of these same lists done by liberals for conservatives. Why does anyone care? The list was kind of funny, not laugh out loud funny but it certainly was not offensive.

I give up. Political correctness wins again. I hereby vow to never laugh, chuckle, or even have the audacity to smile again. The next time a comedian makes fun of a tight-assed, stiff-walking, no-rhythmed conservative white guy (me) I promise not to laugh at myself. Should I write letters or picket?

Uhh, before we go off on a pissing-n-moaning tirade, learn the cardinal rule of comedy/joke telling:

    KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE.

I wasn't offended at all. I laugh at things far more 'offensive' than that. I just didn't think it was funny.

Sorry I didn't hold up a sign for you. But I wasn't pissing-n-moaning. I was actually making a sarcastic little joke. You see, I like smile and laugh whether it is at myself or not. As a short white man, I have heard every Lollipop Guild or Oompaloompa joke you could imagine. A lot of times I'm the one initiating the barb at myself. Since there is some truth in the good-natured jokes, I find them hilarious. But honestly, thank you for letting me know who my audience is. I won't make the mistake again.

Agreed. It just wasn't funny. I don't even think it was meant to be funny. It was about bashing liberals, showing how sissy and unamerican they are and how much better conservative are as human beings.

    You're most certainly welcome.
