Pretty staggering, huh? But what else should be expected of a 'religion' whose founder said this:

"Writing for a penny a word is ridiculous. If a man really wants to make a million dollars he should start his own religion." -L. Ron Hubbard

Um no the subject of the thread was:

Church of Scientology convicted of fraud in France

I am merely putting up posts that show that this conviction will be appealed and probably won.

I also responded to your predictible time mag post with the truth behind that hack job.

Staggering... exactly. I guess I didn't know much about scientology; I thought it was a (rather silly) belief system with some of the abuses and financial perks that far too many leaders of more mainstream religions enjoy. I didn't realize it was such a pure money-grabbing enterprize.

Yes, Scientology was convicted of being a money making scam in France. That was the topic of the thread. I just pointed out that this is nothing new. The people in that story who were fleeced are real people, and those are their true stories. Don't shoot the messenger. But hey, when presented with facts, why not just find a way to blame it on the drug companies? Makes perfect sense.

No I got the humor. I just lived in Beijing & Hong Kong for 2 years so I know that the Chinese originally didn't use the pint until the english forced it upon them. I guess my colonialism hmor failed there...
