I find it funny how liberals are always so quick to give up their freedoms so that the government can run their lives. This type of teaching is only going to make these kids think that Obama is where they need to turn when they want something out of life. That is what is wrong with the liberals in this world, they just want to sit back and have things handed to them. Just stick to teaching and let parents and life in general help mold the kids political views.
Damn, that is one classic right wing rant.

Give up their freedoms....that is one of the most ridiculous statements I have ever heard.

More government control equals less individual freedom, it is fairly simple. The more you rely on the government it gives them more control taking away freedom from you. The sad thing is that if this happens it would be invited and not forced.

I am convinced.... I am stopping teaching and coaching and giving away my kid so I can jump right on this issue in protest because one class in New Jersey and what this teacher did surely means the end of civilization as we know it. (rolls eyes)

You keep saying that it was only one teacher in NJ and because of that it shouldn't matter. That one teacher has 20-30 kids in her classroom. Are you saying that the minds and freedoms of those 20-30 kids don't matter. You also keep talking about your kid, like he/she is SO precious. Guess what, I'll bet the parents of the kids in that class love their kids just as much as you do. They were the ones exposed to this and so they WOULD have to jump right on the issue to prevent it from ever happening again. We are called the UNITED States of America and we should act like it. Just because it isn't your kid getting brainwashed doesn't mean it doesn't matter. Because to someone it does.

That is because it is a chump change issue drummed up by conservatives whose hate for Obama, and anything left or liberal knows no bounds.

I know of a girl who became pregnant last year in sixth grade. I know of another 14 year old pregnant and doing drugs, I know and see a lot of things with kids everyday. I spend time with many kids everyday, and I am a hell of a lot more worried about the things that I just mentioned locally than some isolated even 3000 miles away.

We are called the UNITED States of America and we should act like it. Just because it isn't your kid getting brainwashed doesn't mean it doesn't matter. Because to someone it does.

Well Reni is fairly precious (I added a couple of pics), and a pretty darn good wrestler too. Had kind of a tough year what with a traumatic brain injury, and five months in a wheelchair. But seems to be coming along. Now if she was in the class we'd talk about it and that would be the end of it. Like I said, I am a little more worried about other stuff, teenager, her drug addict mom, other kids I teach and coach, medical bills, and on and on and on.

Guess what, I'll bet the parents of the kids in that class love their kids just as much as you do. They were the ones exposed to this and so they WOULD have to jump right on the issue to prevent it from ever happening again.

And that is their problem..... not mine.

We are called the UNITED States of America and we should act like it.

I didn't get the memo...... when were you made the "acting like the UNITED States of America" csar.

Just because it isn't your kid getting brainwashed doesn't mean it doesn't matter. Because to someone it does.

That is their problem, not mine. I gave up trying to save the world. I just take care of what is in front of me.

Damn, Scott - she has grown up a bit since I saw her in Phoenix 4 years ago. Having met you, it is pretty obvious she got her looks from her mother.

She basically changed overnight, mostly during the five weeks in the hospital. She went from what you saw; just a little taller, to what you see in the pictures.

As far as her looks go the family joke is; "who is the biological dad?"

If you don't care about anything else except what is right in front of you, then you shouldn't care that some of us do care. I, for one, do care about the entire country. The kids of today will be running things when we are older. I would rather have people who are driven to succeed and can get things done without sitting back and waiting for someone to do it for them. I am not the American csar, I'm just a regular American who would like to keep our country free and capitalistic. You never know what future effect this type of thing will have on anyone. One of these kids may grow up to be a congressman and I would like for that person to be able to form his/her own thoughts. Since you don't care, I guess you would be okay with our country going down the tubes as long as your little community does okay. And I'm not trying to be difficult, I just think it is important and since you have a different view, you have tried to minimalize my view.

Good point - but it is fun to talk about.

    Nice sound bite.

So let me see if I got this straight, this one instance is going to turn one kid into a member of Congress that cannot think. Hmm.....

Since you don't care, I guess you would be okay with our country going down the tubes as long as your little community does okay.

That is correct..... it doesn't matter to me. I quit trying to save the world.... too many partisan folks like yourself turned me off on the process, so now I take care of what is in front of me. And FWIW, I am not convinced of your concern for the country. You only want your world view of what is best for the country and everybody else - who doesn't agree with your worldview - is bad and evil. FWIW, I am okay with that.

And I'm not trying to be difficult, I just think it is important and since you have a different view, you have tried to minimalize my view.

Hey, if you want to get worked up about every little thing; knock yourself out. I would recommend you pay VERY close attention to your blood pressure.
