Thread: Health Care

    Default Health Care

I have another clue for you my friends. The sinking Obama numbers are from pissed off libs. They're pissed off that Obama doesn't fire back at the right wing lying bastards. The repugs are still held in very low esteem by the public.

I still kinda like those old polls from Nov 4, 2008.

What exactly are they lying about. I am sure some are lying but in general what are the lies that the republican senators and congressmen are telling.

Who cares.... I will probably die within 10 years - but I truly hope I get to cost the system millions in my death expenses. The conservatives can be happy a person like me is dead. On the otherhand it is a win win thing..... I get to screw the system of huge amounts of money, that will ultimately cost the insured in approved treatment, as well as premiums.

FWIW, when it comes to end of life stuff I will aprove everthing, and anything, treatment wise, and make sure they DO NOT pull the plug ever. This has nothing to do with "respect for life"..... it is just a way to screw the people who have theirs and enjoy screwing me. And if I am functional, but terminal, then I will run up every credit card to it's max, and go out doing what I want, until I cannot anymore...... a screwed up system in a rich nation deserves somebody like me. I will get mine.... in a sense.... just like they get theirs and don't care about me. Once Reni is raised I am actually hoping for such a thing.

I can understand that there is disagreement about HOW to reform our health care system.

It amazes me that some people are against any reform.

Without getting into our currents system's flaws like Gallan has pointed out, our current system is financially unsustainable. Period.

Medicare has 10 years max before it's in the red.

I'm beginning to think because it's called "Obama's Plan" that a segment of America will never support it.

This issue is way to important to use as a political football.

If you're a bleeding heart liberal you should be for reform because it give everyone basic care.
If you're a conservative you should be for reform because our current system is financially inefficient and headed toward an industry failure.

We need to get past the petty stuff and misinformation and do this reform the right way.

Why do you feel the need to screw somebody. Instead why dont you volunteer for test medicine and try to help others. I dont really understand your frustration, I am sure there is a way for you to be taken care of unless you fall into that category of making barely enough money to survive but too much money to get help. I dont like it when people want to screw people who have earned what they have. We all know we need reform and there is a way to get coverage for everyone without the government running things.

You seem to think that if we had Englands style of Health care they would do something for you. They might but most likely they would weigh your age and health against the cost of treating you then based on a cost benefit analysis approve what they deem right for you to live for what short period you have left.

Not only have I been screwed by the money crunch thing (try getting insurance for under a grand with 200 plus BP, lousy collesteral, and 49 years old). But it gets worse.....my child, who IS insured, has left me with (currently - it will go up) 13 bill collecters calling me daily. All while never even diagnosing her, and then sending us home with a "good luck". So yeah, I got screwed, and since nobody seems to give a crap about anybody but themselves, I will give what I got. I am ammoral enough to do it (why should I care about the collective you - you don't care about the collective me). If the system and the status quo wants to screw me, for selfish reasons, I have no problem at all with paybacks. And I am smart enough, and tough enough, to make sure it is REALLY expensive.

Bitter? You bet your azz I am bitter. My dream death at this point is going terminal, with a couple hundred thousand dollars worth of credit card credit, taking trips to Kauai and Yosemite, maxing out that money, and then hanging on when I have to be Hospitalized, forgoing the hospice at home thing, doing that wrestler fighting thing until the end, to cost the most money. I have learned a lot about the system over the past six months with Reni.

PS - You are already paying for me..... I am not paying a single one of those bills. Not one. And I don't have crap for them to get. Reni's trust is out of my hands. If they go for wages (they don't) I will bankrupt, and still have decent credit because I have kept all of my credit cards out of the medical bills thing. My three credit cards love me. I have been with them forever, use them a lot, and keep a balance going (always zero interest).

Scott I think you missing something. Nobody is saying dont reform the system, we are saying that this plan is not the plan we like. I have pointed out how the government cant even take care of the veterans health care. I dont think they will do an adequate job with everyone's health care. I dont believe that this wont end up as a single payer government health care system like Canada or the UK. We nee to set regulations on insurance companies so they must provide affordable insurance for everyone who wants it, that includes you with your conditions. They need to regulate payouts from insurance agencies, to often you get sick and these companies find a way out of paying. There is a solution out there that will benefit all involved and not just those who currently dont have insurance.

Wow Scott, most of us hope to live long and die painlessly, seems like you have decided... or resigned yourself? to the opposite. I hope things work out better for you and your child than your last couple of posts predict.

G&P, your post is excellent. I understand very little about the current health care system (American or Canadian) or Obama's desires to change it, but I think it's become needlessly political... as in "we hate Obama, let's make things tough for him!" Issues like this (Global Warming is another one) need to be looked at practically, not ideologically... as in "How can we provide the best health care at the most reasonable cost?"
