In the interest of fairness and balance, have any lefties gotten kicked out today? I only heard of the guy who shouted "Baby Killer!".

I thought Sen. Grassley's (R-Iowa) comment in response to the disruption was pretty darn funny. Especially if you know who he is. Not bad for a farmer from Butler County.

When you mentioned that he was a farmer, the first thing that came to my mind that he would say was the old farm saying "an empty wagon makes a lot of noise".

I use to think it was fiscal discipline but that changed big time with Iraq and other huge spending by the repubs 2001-2008. I also find it very frustrating that the repubs didn't become defecit hawks until a dem became president. It is completely disingenuous.

The current conservative movement is now all about 4 issues. Guns. gays God and ethnicity. Keep in mind, I'm talking about 2009 conservatives, not traditional old-school conservatives.

BTW, I also hate wasteful spending regardless of what party does it. Also, the stimulus funds have barely been spent but the reborn fiscal hawks make it seem like it's already spent. They do try to effect a message though thru Limbaugh, Hannity etc.

One last thing, the repubs at the hearing are hitting on the Latina remark and it is convincing ALL minorities that the white men who run the party are too focused on ethnicity.

She made stupid speeches but I believe she was pandering to the audiences she was speaking to. They need to let it go ASAP as it is falling very flat. They need to reference SPECIFIC cases. They are not doing that to buttress her Latina claims. The Ricci case isn't scoring for them either. She followed the current law and it's the SC judges who are being activist. It goes both ways.

That is one of my biggest peeves about the repubs. They seriously feel that religion is a political issue rather than a personal issue. Once again, that is not a classic conservative, i.e. Goldwater

If rational conservs like Chance get heard, then guys like you really need to wrest control of the party and forget guns, gays and god!

One last thing...I'm a periodic poster so give me a break for four straight posts, the second amendment will never be changed and nothing will change in your ability to buy and enjoy guns. I think it's tossed around politically for posturing purposes (predominately DEMS Btw).

I usually find you way to over the top, but this one comment is right on.
