Obama and his administration have no desire to work with Republicans. They have huge majorities in both houses. They don't need Republican support.

Obama is great at setting the anchor so far left that any movement back to the center looks like a compromise. "Let's see... I really want to spend about $800B on this social plan.. ummm.. let's call it a Stimulus Plan, put a price tag of $950B on it. When we move back to $800B, everyone will give me credit for compromising."
You sir are a right wing fringe talking point. Have fun for the next 7.5 years.

I just wish my tax dollars didn't go to support putz's like you.

I did not think you could provide me any evidence to support your claim that Obama is trying to work with Republicans.

With respect to your other snide comment, I firmly believe I provided a great service to the US taxpayers when I was in the Army. I'm quite sure every one of my soldiers and nearly all my superior officers would vouch for the quality of my service.

Furthermore, I can assure you, I have paid more in federal tax dollars than I earned during the 7 years I earned a paycheck from the US government.

Fair enough. Sorry to hijack, BnR.

I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on anti-trust laws. However, I'd have to think the non-BCS conference schools have a legitimate gripe. I have no idea how the courts will see it.

I don't think this is an issue our Congress should be addressing at this point in time.

As a big fan of most college sports, I think the NCAA is a more unfair/unjust force in college athletics than the BCS.

LOL - no need to apologize, AF, we're all guilty of doing it some point. That's the nature of the beast, on messageboards.

I see the complaint about the bigger conferences dominating the BCS bowls but it's pretty hard to dispute that the power of those conferences from top to bottom are stronger than the others.

That being said, with that strength comes .....power......and money......BIG MONEY.

I'm always skeptical of big money (a searing experience I witnessed with my father's life).

Army, all you posted was opinions offered as fact. This is a classic right wing tactic. I don't waste time arguing with someone who hates this guy with a passion. He could cure cancer and you and your other fringers would complain that he didn't do it sooner.

I'm cool with your hatred. I hated Bush and all I remember is the whining coming from the fringers like you about how horrible that was.

Like I said, enjoy the next 7.5 years because you guys don't have a clue how to govern this country.

You stated the "opinion offered as fact" first. I disputed it and asked you to provide some support. You failed to do so. It's my opinion that President Obama has not "reached across the aisle" or attempted to work with Republicans. He does not need to. He can pass his agenda by slamming it through without Republican support. The stimulus bill and energy bill had not even been printed for 12 hours (roughly) before Pelosi was forcing the House to vote on these enormously important (and flawed, in my opinion) bills. Had the general public been made aware of what these bills included, there is no way either bill would have been approved.

I don't hate Obama. He has many redeeming qualities. However, it's becoming more apparent that he's merely acting as the Sr. VP of Sales for a leftist agenda. He came into office with the hope of "changing Washington", yet he's found that Washington (even those in his party, mainly Pelosi and Reed) are not willing to change.

Although I respect Obama, I firmly believe his agenda for America is completely wrong, very naive at times, and irreversibly damaging. Although support for him personally remains high, polls show Americans are losing faith/trust in his policies/programs. He's enormously popular and the most charismatic President I've seen in my lifetime. At times though he is disingenous or flat out dishonest. He's pushing through an agenda that most Americans do not support (in my opinion) yet he continually says Americans want it. It will be interesting to see which party gains seats in the House next year.

I would submit your "hate" for the other side is a lot stronger than mine. You continually use insulting/disparaging words to describe those on the other side ("nopublicans" for example or snide comments about my military service). I try to keep the terms above the belt and with some amount of respect. I'm sure I've referred to Geithner as "little Timmy" before but I try to use the proper names/titles. You come across as a whiny little kid with your choice of words at times.
