Default Capitalism for people or people for capitalism?

People love to buy things ok. If so, how come we need countless commercials on TV stations, on radio stations, websites, and in newspapers? If people love consumerism so much wouldn't they themselves have the initiatives to explore the goods?

There are no certain channels with advertisements or certain websites. Anywhere we look something is being advertised to us whether we want it or not. This tells me we exist for capitalism and for the profit seekers.

Many times we are coerced to buy something just because it is being stuck in our face kind of like a delicious piece of a certain food.

No ladies and gentlemen, I think often we are groomed and controled to buy so that certain people can profit.

You answered your own question, Big. Why do we find incessant advertising in nearly every sphere of our existence? So we can be groomed to buy (I would use the term conditioned, not controlled).

Numerous examples, but in recent days: (1) crowds lathering over the purchase of an I-phone (or whatever it's called), and the news channels telling us about it; (2) the 4-year old girl who kept dialing 911 and asking for McDonalds; (3) You or I say Bush; someone will automatically say Clinton.
