I am looking for information on launching a new business.

I believe I have a great idea for a new clothing line, but now need direction on the steps I need to take. So any information one can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I need help on who to contact to register the name and logo.

Where to go for venture capital investors.

And manufacturing sites, as I know most are overseas.

I would like to open it and have all manufacturing done here in the states.

google the registering part. as for manufacturing, if it's just shirts? do it yourself. a starter screen printing package is all you need. a website. and market the hell out of it. how, that's the magic. figure it out. if you get soooo many orders, then look into outsourcing.

I've owned my own business for 18 years now and I have a client with a sign in his office: :"There are 2 things that are highly overrated in this world - Mom's apple pie and owning your own business."

Be sure that you are truly unique. Be sure that you completely understand those customers most likely to buy from you. Be sure that you have lots of capital. Repeat number 3 several times. I have a client that holds 23 patents. He spends more money on patent infringement lawsuits in a year than he spends on marketing.

Be ready - it's tough to be on your own. Be prepared to work much harder than you ever worked for anyone else. Marry someone with decent health care. Write a fabulous business plan.
