Rythmic gymnastics, equestrian, and race walking, in that order.

I love to watch the athletes for whom competing in the Olympics is the attainment of a lifetime goal. I won't watch much basketball, baseball or tennis - but I WILL watch the equestrian (I ride a little bit and have spent a lot of time around horses, so I know just how hard dressage is).
I'll, of course, have to watch the Iowans: Shawn Johnson, hurdler Lolo Jones and biker Jason McCartney - and that Schwab guy.
My one complaint is that we'll have to watch more hours of NBC's "drama" than actual sporting events.
Long, long time ago, I was glued to the TV for all of it. Now, very little.
The coverage in the US is by far the worst. There is very little of actual competition that is actually aired ... mostly blab, blab, blab and comercial, comercial, comercial. If I do want to watch something, I record it and skip, skip, skip....FF, FF, FF.

They did a pretty good job on the trials broadcasts as keeping that stuff to a minimum. Also, the swimming, track and gymnastics are going to be shown live. Since China is exactly 12 hours ahead of the East Coast, they are running those activities at 8-11 a.m. in China so that they can be shown during primetime here in the states. With the events going live, there will not be as much room for fluff. Also, these games are going to have more televised options than ever before, not to mention all that will be streamed online. I can't wait!
