Evan Almighty ... opening night take in Lancaster ($18)
Seriously,
We checked out this flick at its first showing in Lancaster ... 11:59 p.m. Thursday.
I can honestly say that I saw this before all of you! Grips too.
Here's the proof ... opening previews. Dark picture (but it's a camera phone)
Opening weekend

There's no one else in the effin' theatre.

So what's Grips doing sitting way in the back of the theatre?
The Onion gave the movie a "D". Can you give it a higher recommendation?
Re: Evan Almighty ... opening night take in Lancaster ($18)
That's actually the "middle" of the theatre. It was in the biggest stadium seating theatre at Regal 16 -- which is literally a five minute walk from my apt.
It's very average ... more family friendly, but extremely predictable ... extremely predictable.
In my world, a D is a passing grade, but yeah, this one should be a flop.
Re: Evan Almighty ... opening night take in Lancaster ($18)
I don't think that looks like Grips...

He's hidden under that long raincoat, must have been the night of the big thunderstorms.

As to if it is any good? Our web site is one of the sponsors of the movie nationally, in fact the primary company that owns our site is the same that made the movie and is promoting it. As to what our reviewers are saying about it, very mixed in the least. Some are saying it is okay, others saying it is flat out bad. I plan on seeing it this weekend. I used to have a friend that I went to movies and saw them on Friday but he disappeared. Anyone know where Curtis is let me know.
As to the photograph, there are company eyes everywhere. Good thing some of them are friends. Of course an adult beverage in Fargo could work at keeping someone really quite.

Glad to see it is bombing. I'd really be down on Hollywood if someone tried to turn this into a Bond like series of movies.

I saw it shortly after Dart Shark - Friday afternoon at a 4:50 showing. I won't expect it to win too many Oscars, but I enjoyed it. It's a family friendly movie with an innocuous religious message that I didn't find annoying or overpowering. It was worth the $5.50 each that we paid.
