Those teams didn't make the decision to "evaluate how the new starter is doing", they put the #2 in there because of an injury to #1.
The bottom line - you don't pay $12 mil to a backup. If he comes back to the Packers, they are going to start him, regardless of whether you want to see him holding a clipboard after 16 years. If they are confident in Rodgers, then all of this should be a non-issue.
Favre has stunk it up in domes his entire career - let the Vikes have him if they want him. It wouldn't take much to be better than Jackson, and the primary job of a Vikes QB should be to either hand the ball off to Peterson, or dump a swing pass to Peterson. Favre's third responsiblity would be to tackle the guy who intercepted his pass, but that's beside the point. |
